Assistant Professor Snježana Dubovicki, PhD

Dr. sc. Snježana Dubovicki (maiden name Kragulj) was born on October 30, 1984 in Osijek. She completed her studies of Pedagogy and Croatian Language and Literature in 2007. After completing her studies from September 2007 to November 2008, she worked as a pedagogue in three elementary schools in the Vukovar-Srijem County. Academic year 2009/2010 she enrolled in the Postgraduate Doctoral Study in Pedagogy at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb, Department of Pedagogy, in the Curriculum of Contemporary Education and School. In May 2013, she received her PhD for the work titled   Correlation Between the Curriculum of Teacher Education and Student Creativity Development and thus obtained the academic title of Doctor of Science in the area of Social Sciences, field of Pedagogy, branch of Didactics. She was elected Research Associate on January 8, 2015. From October 2018 she has been Vice-dean for development and professional work at the Faculty of Education, Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek.

From 2009 to 2014 she was a collaborator on the project Creativity Development in Lifelong Teacher Education (245-1221170-1063), which since 2007 is being implemented at the Faculty of Teacher Education in Osijek (project leader: Full professor Ladislav Bognar, PhD (from 2009 until 2012) and Assistant Professor Branko Bognar, PhD (from 2012 until 2014)). From 2018 to 2020, she is a member of the working group on curriculum analysis and preparation for the welfare of children within the two-year project "Subjective Well-Being of Children in Croatia" by the Social Work Study Center (Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb, project leader: full professor Marina Ajduković, PhD) in cooperation with the UNICEF Office for Croatia Children's world: The International Survey of Children' s Well-Being (ISCWeB). She is currently an associate on the project originating from HKO (Croatian Qualifications Framework) held from 2019 to 2021 (UP., run by the University of Zadar (project leader: full professor Dijana Vican, PhD) called the Competency Standards of Teachers, Educators, and Mentors.

She has presented her work at numerous international scientific conferences in the Republic of Croatia and abroad (Japan, United Arab Emirates, Portugal, Italy, Slovenia, Hungary, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina). So far, she has held three keynote speeches on topics in the field of Didactics in Slovenia (Maribor) and Croatia (Osijek).

So far, she has published three authored books (two scientific monographs and one university textbook), three book chapters (scientific monographs), 29 papers published in journals, 14 papers published in conference proceedings. Her research interest is seen in curriculum research, teaching at all levels of education (with particular emphasis on university teaching and lifelong learning), creativity, self-actualization, emotions in teaching, methodology, and qualitative and futuristic research methods.

She is a reviewer of a number of papers in the field of didactics, creativity and methodology published in the Croatian Journal of Education, The Journal of Elementary Education, Školski vjesnik, Methodical Review Journal, Life and School and papers published in conference proceedings: Global and Local Perspectives of Pedagogy (Osijek), Didactic Challenges II (Osijek), Didactic Challenges III (Osijek), Contemporary Themes in Education (Zagreb), 18th Mate Demarin Days, 2nd International Scientific and Artistic Symposium on Pedagogy and Art and many others.

Since October 1, 2019, she has been the deputy editor-in-chief of the journal Life and School and is on the editorial board of two other journals that publish works in the field of education: Croatian Journal of Education and International Journal for Education (Croatia) and Research and Training (IJERT, Northern Macedonia).

She is fluent in English both speaking and writing, and passive in German. She is recorded in the list of scientists and researchers at the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Croatia under serial number 312473. She is a member of the Croatian Pedagogical Society (HPD) and the Croatian Andragogical Society.
